I have been coaching for 17 years. I played all four years of high school.
Volleyball was not my passion until I went to Texas Lutheran and played under the greatest coach, Susan Duke. She is the reason I have so much passion and success
in volleyball. I started my freshman year for Coach Duke and that year we went to Nationals at Missouri Western State College and placed fourth. The experience
I got playing college volleyball created my love of the sport. I enjoy teaching young ladies the importance of a good pass and to see these athletes improve each time
they practice or play the game. I stress how important their serves are in the game and how they need to work together on the court and trust each other to have
success in volleyball. My coaching philosophy is to find the positive in every
situation, build on it and make the corrections needed to be successful. I feel
that I am planting the seed in these young athletes that will bloom and grow into
great success and love for volleyball.

I must give credit to my college volleyball coach, Susan Duke, for teaching me the majority of volleyball knowledge that I have today. She was, for a good portion of her college coaching career, the second winning-est coach in the country (right behind Al Skates - UCLA), and for good reason. She is just like David Robinson and Tim Duncan because she believes that footwork and technique are the most crucial aspects of any sport. The part where the volleyball player slams it down so hard that you think she just knocked the air out of the ball…that was the result of a good pass, a good set, her teammates covering her, and that's after everyone transitioned from defense to offense, in a span of about 3 seconds. My philosophy is that we must rely on each other to get the job done. If one person is out of place, then we must work harder to cover her. A player is reliable when she is performing her technique correctly and with enough physical and mental effort for us to dig the ball and run an offense that is deceptive and effective. Footwork is Everything! Once a player is comfortable with perfect footwork, volleyball becomes a whole new game. The goal I have for each player in this club is to help her move to the next level of the game with perfect footwork and for each player to learn to have a big heart for each of her teammates (that is where a player learns to be relied upon and trusted to do her job).
